 Hadley Chittum

I’m Hadley Chittum (she/they), a freelance  documentary and editorial photographer from the Appalachain mountains of Southwest Virginia currently based in Richmond, Virginia. I work for publications like the Guardian, New York Times, Teen Vogue, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and more.

My editorial portfolio can be found here.

I started Lover Pics out of a desire to photograph more intimate stories and to document human connection. Because of my photojournalism background, I prefer to photograph weddings by sitting back and letting the action unfold.  My process and style will work best for a couple that wants to be present in the moment  and  not have too many typical, posed  photo-ops.

Because I am trained to approach every news story I photograph with objectivity, I treat each couple and the story of their wedding day the same way. I'm eager to learn about your partnership, your expectations, and the unique touches that will make your wedding day personal to you. I believe the best photographs of lovers are beautiful because of the raw intimacy of a moment, not because they are trying to mimic a trend or an aesthetic. When photographing your wedding I'll be looking out for the best light and those fleeting (or lingering) moments of human connection.

Fill out my contact form below to get in touch. I can also work with you to create a custom package if you don’t see one that aligns with your needs.
